Dragonfish Knocking on the Door

The series shifted to London, UK for game 2. The Dragonfish came out strong in the first set with Aleksandr getting 2 throw-outs, and catching Williame's errant throw. Deutch also did a bad throw to finish off the set in the Dragonfish's favor.

Deutch came out swinging in th esecond set for the Seadogs, but he was caught by Milfred after getting up 2-0. But Lewis brought them home with 2 throw -outs to win the set.

Final Set. Deutch came out swinging again the same way and got caught by Francis after going up 2-0. It seemed the Seadogs would carry the momentum. Francis, however, reversed this with 2 straight good throws. He also caught an errant Williame's throw. Milfred finished the set off with a nice throw-out.

One more win for the Dragonfish and they get the coveted title. Can the Seadogs become the first team to come back from 2-0 to win? stay tuned...

The Greatest Game Ever Played

Game 1 of the 2009-2 Championship came with a bang. The stage was set, Sarasota, Florida. The stars were in the air and on the ground as the Championship commenced. This was one of the greatest games of the year.

The first set was a nailbiter that was tit for tat until 4-4. 4 throws were intercepted this set. Williame ended it with a booming throw.

The 2nd set was also epic. The Seadogs had the upper hand at 4-3. Williame and James vs. Aleksandr. The game was one the line, if Williame could complete a successful throw, the seadogs would wrap up game 1. Williame threw a good ball, but Aleksandr reached down and nabbed it before it hit his feet. He then fired it at James the only rookie in the Championship to win the set.

The next set, the Dragonfish rode on the momentum and Milfred guided them to another home victory. The Seadogs precious record 12 game win streak was halted.

Final Score: DF- 14 | SEA-12

The Dragonfish start off better than they did last championship when they lost the first game. The Seadogs could not have been closer to winning this game in 2 sets. They did not lose this game, rather, the Dragonfish won it.

"I just had to play well for my team. When my number was called, I knew I had to deliver. We've been playing under pressure all year, so this situation was routine" Aleksandr #5 Dragonfish.

Seadogs v. Dragonfish

The Dragonfish triumph over the Gold in the final game of the Conference Finals to advance to their 2nd Championship in as many years. Waiting for them will be the hot hot hot hot Seadogs. The Seadogs are coming off a league record 12 game winning streak. This will be an interesting series, with the potential to be a real good one.

Keys to Victory:
Dragonfish- For the Dragonfish to win this trophy, they need to get Deutch and Williame out early. Especially Deutch. He is what makes this team go round. They need consistent play from Milfred and strong efforts by Francis and Jacoby.

Seadogs- Kil Mil. That simple. Without Milfred, the DF cannot stand-up. Francis, Aleksandr and Jacoby all have their shining moments, but Milfred is always the consistent base that brings them the W. Offensively, the Seadogs need to stay true to what got them here. Spreading the ball around and getting everybody involved.

Theo named league MVP

The votes are in, and Theo of the Gremlins was voted the MVP of the league. He was essential to the success of the Gremlins this past year, with 5 game MVP's. He had a very impressive 83.3% throwing average, and 14 catches, many of them on good throws. Him and Forrest teamed up to set the record for the best start for a team at 8-0.

Coming close behind in votes was Khris of the Scarlet Ember. He did shoulder the team into the playoffs but he didnt help them improve that much from the previous year.

Critics do complain that Theo couldn't get his team out of the first round, or that Forrest had better statistics than him. But look at his story. He was on the Interceptors for all of his career, laying low and not getting to shine there. He wanted out and the Gremlins offered him the right price, ($8 million big ones!). He comes to the Gremlins and instantly makes a new dynamic there, finally the Gremlins have a duo to be reckoned with. His shutdown style let the league know the Gremlins were no joke this year. Congratulations Theo, you deserve it.

Note- Michael of the Margays received Rookie of the Year, taking on the leader role of an aging team. More Awards soon
